Task: Illustrate a children’s book given specific copy.
Process: Despite taking issue with the stilted writing of the provided copy, illustrating this story was an absolute blast! The entire royal family are, of course, anthropomorphized cats, with the princess and prince being modeled after my parents’ cats, Nala and Simba.
The main characters were sketched out by hand, scanned, and then traced and tweaked in Illustrator. Placement of text was considered as the drawings were created; the copy was then added to the images in InDesign
