Task: Address a modern social concern through a multi-channel advertising platform.
Process: One of my least-favorite songs ever is John Mayer’s “Waiting on the World to Change”; it’s a song about recognizing what is wrong in the world, but rather than acting to make positive changes, the singer encourages other to do nothing and “keep on waiting”.
I designed the “Don’t Be a Slacktivist” campaign to encourage the technologically-saavy to try getting physically involved in causes they support, rather than just retweeting, reblogging, or signing online petitions. It uses the familiar imagery of social media to encourage positive action on causes right where the viewer lives.
